All workplaces licensed under the Flammable and Explosive Goods Act (2010:1011) to handle flammable goods must have at least one supervisor. The Act contains a superintendent requirement in Section 9. This supervisor needs to have good knowledge of laws, regulations and manuals on flammable goods in order to be able to perform their duties and understand the importance of proper handling.
As a supervisor, you have the task of ensuring that the handling and storage takes place in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Also that you and your colleagues are aware of the risks associated with flammable goods.
